A WhatsApp group. Ten to fifteen players, brought together from existing cricket connections. Nobody knew exactly what it would become. The group was called (UCC) — United Cricket Club.
The club went on PlayO and started adding more players. Within 45 days, 100 people had joined. The momentum was immediate.
UCC played its first ever competitive match against an external opponent. They won it — by 5 wickets.
UCC played its first internal match. Autobots vs Decepticons. Decepticons won by 30 runs. A theme was born — one that would define the club's internal cricket for years to come.
The pandemic paused everything. When cricket resumed, the club returned with nearly 100 more players — and a renewed hunger to compete. The story was just getting started.
UCC's first year was one for the ages. The club won its opening match, hit 317/4 in 30 overs — its highest team total — and launched the Transformers-themed internal cricket that would define the club's DNA. Within 45 days, 100 players had joined. Then COVID halted everything. UCC returned with nearly 100 more.
Post-COVID rebuild. The squad grew, the appetite for competitive cricket returned, and UC3 expanded from 2 to 3 teams — making internal cricket bigger and more competitive than ever.
A season of firsts in external cricket. UCC reached its first external semi-final in March, then went on to feature in two tournament finals — signs that the club was becoming a force in Bangalore's amateur circuit.
The breakthrough year. Three external championships in a single season — across different formats and tournaments — announced UCC as one of Bangalore's most competitive amateur clubs. Two more runner-up finishes, including a turf wicket tournament, showed the depth of the squad.
Two more external titles added to the cabinet. A defining off-field moment too — UCC launched its first colour jersey on 15th December, the 600th Match Edition kit, marking a milestone in the club's identity.
Forge the Legacy. A season that pushed boundaries on and off the pitch. UCC defeated India's #1 club in a floodlit night match — the club's first — on 9th January. The season produced 150+ matches, 120+ unique players, and a league title won the hard way: beating the tournament's only unbeaten side in the final.
Whatever It Takes — and UCC means it. The season opened with a runners-up finish in a multi-month T30 league, losing to India's #1 team in the final. Three weeks later, Republic Day brought a title. The chapter is still being written.
UC3 was built for one purpose — to compete amongst ourselves, have fun, find talent under pressure, and create an environment where everybody gets to know each other. Seven editions in, it remains the heartbeat of the club.
Started in 2020 with 2 Transformer-themed teams, it grew to 3 teams from 2021 onwards. From 2023, a full auction was introduced — franchise cricket, UCC style.
